Matcha is a traditional Japanese tea powder made from finely ground green tea leaves. With Matcha, you consume the leaves themselves, allowing you to absorb all the healthy nutrients. This makes it especially important that the Matcha is completely free of chemicals.
The quality of Matcha varies greatly, from simple culinary grades to premium ceremonial Matcha. High-quality ceremonial Matcha is known for its rich umami flavor, vibrant green color, and low bitterness.
Clearly Matcha is of the highest ceremonial quality, sourced from a unique, fully organic environment in Kagoshima, Japan. Our Matcha is grown without pesticides or herbicides, and all surrounding farms are organic, ensuring no chemical substances in the soil.

Ben normaal niet zo'n fan van matcha, maar dit smaakt gewoon lekker, voelde me fijn ook nadat ik het gedronken had.
Frequently Asked Questions
Each pack contains 20 sticks. We did make a small mistake with the size of the pouch, but this will be corrected in the next version. Ultimately, what matters most is what’s inside—and that’s matcha of #1 quality.
Matcha is highly sensitive to light, air, and moisture, which can cause it to oxidize quickly. This affects its flavor, nutrients, and color. The longer matcha is exposed, the faster its quality deteriorates. In Japan, matcha is often packaged in small tins to be used within 2–4 weeks. After that, its quality noticeably declines, even in sealed containers.
Our 2g sticks provide the perfect protection against light, air, and moisture. This keeps the matcha fresh and preserves its color, nutrients, and rich flavor. The sticks are also convenient for on-the-go use and ensure a perfect portion every time.
Clearly Matcha comes from Kagoshima, a region in southern Japan renowned for its volcanic soil and ideal climate for growing high-quality tea. Kagoshima offers perfect conditions with its mineral-rich soil, misty mountain air, and subtropical climate.
Our matcha is 100% organic certified, meaning it is grown without pesticides, herbicides, or synthetic fertilizers. Additionally, all surrounding farms where our matcha is sourced are also organic. This prevents chemicals from contaminating the plants through the soil or air.
Our tea plants are allowed to grow for two years longer than standard matcha plants. This extended growth period allows the plants to absorb more nutrients from the volcanic soil, such as vitamins and antioxidants. The result is a higher-quality matcha with a richer flavor and more health benefits.
Matcha is packed with nutrients that support your health. It is rich in antioxidants, including catechins like EGCG, which help protect your cells from damage caused by free radicals. Matcha also contains L-theanine, an amino acid that promotes calmness and improves focus. Combined with caffeine, it provides a natural energy boost without the jitteriness often associated with coffee. This unique combination makes matcha an excellent choice for a healthy lifestyle.
L-theanine is a natural amino acid found in green tea, with higher concentrations in matcha. It is known for its ability to promote calmness without causing drowsiness. L-theanine also helps balance the effects of caffeine, providing long-lasting energy and focus without the peaks and crashes commonly associated with coffee.
Matcha is often described as having a grassy flavor, but the taste varies greatly depending on its quality. Lower-quality matcha can taste bitter and sharp, while ceremonial-grade matcha, like Clearly Matcha, has a smooth, creamy texture with rich umami and a subtle sweetness. Factors such as growing conditions and processing determine the balance and complexity of the flavor.
Ceremonial grade is the highest standard for matcha. It means the tea is made from the youngest leaves of the first harvest, which have the most nutrients and the softest flavor. These leaves are hand-selected and ground into a powder with a vibrant green color, rich umami flavor, and minimal bitterness. Ceremonial matcha is specifically designed to be enjoyed pure, without any additions, and is traditionally used in Japanese tea ceremonies.
Yes, matcha is safe and healthy for daily use. It is often recommended to drink 1–2 servings per day, depending on your caffeine sensitivity. Matcha provides a natural source of energy and nutrients, making it an excellent addition to your daily routine.
Matcha contains caffeine, so we recommend consulting your doctor before trying anything new during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
